I never turned it off and have done a crapton of different things trying to get it working since then only to just now notice it was still in compatability mode.
exe for Windows 8 to see if that would keep it from crashing, but that didnt work. This is what I did to fix it… (see images I uploaded) I dont know what it was exactly that solved the problem, but at one point Id enabled compatability under the. *Use 8xQ as AA - CSAA Modes give problems (8x 16x 16xQ) Possible Solution #3: (By DualBootGamer from the Steam forums)įor those of you who have Alt+Tab blackout here is the fix I got a black screen upon re-entering the game from an alt-tab but found that alt-tabbing again and then re-entering the game for a second time fixed the issue. Solution #2:(By Riutse from the Steam forums) Completely restart Steam again and launch the game. Open the user.cfg file again, and change the fullscreen value back to on. Go to the options menu, and change the Direct X value to 10, accept and quit. Most settings are low or turned off, and the game runs in the same resolution as my native desktop res (1920x1080). At first it was very rare, hours of gameplay, but now the biggest challenge of the game is to reach new checkpoints before I crash. Open it and change the fullscreen value to off, then save the file.Ĭompletely quit and restart Steam.exe so it grabs the updates from the user.cfg, and launch Metro. These crashes also crash my internet browser. In that folder you should find the Metro user.cfg file that the steam cloud saves locally.
Or, to make it work with your already installed drivers simply use Regedit.

Yes, it is a mod for Alienware but it works for any SLI based system. The only time I ever use sleep for anything is to wake up my stupid Recon3Di sound card that likes to play hide and go seek once in a while.
My machines are always turned on or turned off. I disable sleep and hibernation and never, ever use either of them because of problems that arise. maybe that explains why I never have SLI issues.
